summ turns 2!

A little under 2 months ago my little infant turned 2 years old.
I honestly cannot believe that she is 2 already!! But then we will be having a perfectly happy day, laughing and cuddling and seconds later she will be having a melt down about anything and then I believe it. Terrible twos are a real thing! But one day they will be over riiiiight?? So I will hang in there and try to laugh {slash cry} my way through them ;)
Anyway, her birthday was magical. So wonderful! Everything a 2 year old's birthday should be!!
It started out with opening some presents, and then taking a bath, because that is currently her favorite pass time. She love love loves baths and showers. But she doesn't like to wash her hair.....
Then we went to a music class she is signed up for and Spencer got to come! He got work off for her birthday, which was quite impressive since he works at an accounting office and her b-day is right in the thick of tax season (I guess it helps that his dad aka Summer's grandpere is his boss..(shout out to Daniel Tiger..who I really can't stand. Whyyyy doesn't he wear any pants?!).
After music together, we had a picnic at the park!! It was perrrrrfect! The weather was beautiful and it felt like summer....the season. Both sets of grandparents came and cousins and we had peanut butter and honey sandwiches and string cheese and gold fish and strawberries and apples and it was just wonderful. We also had a cookie cake! And I can't believe that I did not get one single picture of that cookie cake. I even made it twice! (she had 2 parties..for the folks who couldn't make it to the picnic)
After the picnic we went home and had naaaaaaap time! I don't remember if I napped..or if Spencer napped. But Summer napped! I probably did nap. I love nap time! Nap is a funny word now that I have typed it 100 times..
After nap time we went to dinner at Zupas! This was probably the most successful dinner time at a restaurant we have ever had. She ate soooooo well! She ate basically all of her soup and roll and some of her grilled cheese and all her fruit and of course her chocolate covered strawberry....that is her favorite part.
After Zupas we went and saw Rio 2 with gma y gpa S. It was good! Summer ran around the theater for most of it, but it was her birthday and she can do what she wants to. -_-
After Rio we went home! And played with toys she got for her birthday. She loooves her little dolly that auntie Angela gave her. And she got a tea set from gram lisa that she loves too!! And of course every other present she loves as well..those are just the ones I have pictured.
Okay enough typing. I'll just let the pictures tell the story.

licking the cookie cake batter yummmmmm :)

fun fact: Summer woke up in Christmas pajamas on her 1st birthday too!

summer is such a sweet little mommy to all of her dollies.

I was so impressed that I was able to french braid her hair I had to take an up close pic :)

supta baddha konasana :) aka reclining butterfly aka yoga at its finest.

they get to take turns playing the auto harp after their music class

This frowny face came out of nowhere! Such a sad one :(

this is what is left of the cookie cake and slippers from aunty michelle

down dog!

butterfly, cobblers, baddha konasana, you take your pick.

did you notice her wardrobe change? after her nap she had peed through her other outfit..

Spencer has a snake, Maizey. Summer loves seeing her. Spencer's uncle has a really big snake that Summer loves to see when we are at their house. So for her birthday they gave her this stuffed snake! She loves it. It was the perfect present.

such a sweet little mama

Summer would rather not wear shoes than wear them.. so by the end of the day after playing at the playground for so long her feet were so so dirty! So Spencer washed them for her.
I added this picture because I thought it looked like Summer was getting princess treatment for her birthday, getting her feet washed and all, but really Spencer treats her like a princess every day. Maybe because she is one :) And maybe because he is the sweetest daddy a girl could ask for.

ouchy sunburn :(

the next morning.

cuties :)

  1. It looks like Summer had a fun birthday! Sorry we missed it. Oh I love her black and white dress with the hearts and that amazing she has enough hair for French braids! Love you, Summer!
